The October issue of Men's Health magazine has an insightful editorial on "The Ultimate Guide to Buying, Wearing and Looking Great in Denim". Their Denim Through The Ages timeline takes you through James Dean's classic white t-shirt look in Rebel Without A Cause, to the 1976 punk movement with the Ramones in skinny ripped jeans through to a 15-year old Brooke Shields and her infamous Calvin Klein ads.
Along with having 'real guys' talking about why they love their blues they have their cover model Rob Hillis, carpenter of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, talk about his work wardrobe staple! '..."Baggy pants and protruding boxers are a liabilty for me, " says Hillis, who needs to be nimble on set. A precise fit will keep you from snagging and create a more flattering silhouette. Each brand has its own idea of sizing--often very different from the waist measurement on the tag...'
Other helpful tips in the article include some 'Blues Basics' from David Lim, founder and designer of Kasil Jeans. He explains how to clean your favorite denim:
-Wear your jeans at least two or three times between washings.
-Turn jeans inside out before laundering. use cold water and mild soap.
-Hang dry. Do not use a clothes dryer- heat will fade and shrink denim.
-To maintain the original color of your jeans, dry clean them.
The article also highlighted Lucky Brand Jeans, 7 For All Mankind and Kasil jeans as some brands to check out for different occasions. Below are a few style suggestions from True Jeans on how to incorprorate jeans into your work wardrobe!

Ever since US Weekly's 90210 Exclusive, 'Too Thin For TV" hit newsstands in September the skinny bug has been buzzin' around Hollywood. Now this is obviously a serious topic and issue, but what blows my mind is how people are saying it's back. Did it ever really leave? On one end, we have an increase in diabetes and obesity, but we also seem to be plagued by the other extreme- eating disorders. Pro- anorexia and bulimia sites have even increased by 470 percent this year alone!
Models and actresses definitely establish the trends, but should the finger be pointed only at Hollywood? I think that's just too black and white for a disease that's so complex. We all may not have eating disorders, but I can bet that we all look in the mirror once a day and make some sort of judgment. It really comes down to self-empowerment and education from a young age. But, the fact is whether we like it or not, celebs are made into role models and should realize they are sending a certain message to viewers. They have the opportunity step up to the plate in a positive way. or they can simply be unaware while strutting their stuff on the red carpet.
All in all, Hollywood moves in trends. Last year, we were all about Ugly Betty and even America's Next Top Model was a size 14. It made us think, we're on a different path. But with a new TV season, comes new stars and gossip to find. So now we come full circle, back to the weight issue-- and once that gets saturated, I'm sure the tabs will find something new-- perhaps the next big addiction or sex scandal.

One style...endless looks! With a few easy shoe changes you can take your skinnies from day to night, from work to play and from one season to the next!
Now's the time to start parading around those new boots! The True Jeans team has found that a Jodphur clip (a stir-up with elastic clip typically used when riding horses) is the most effective and comfortable way to tuck your jeans into boots whether the jean is a skinny or straight leg, paired with a tight or slouchy boot!
True Jeans is giving away a pair of these stir-up clips between October 1st and November 1st with the purchase of a skinny or a straight leg jean. (One pair of stir-ups per customer and while supplies last)
Jean featured is the Red Engine Cayenne Skinny in the Dark wash. Also available in Black.

Lawrence Fishbourne was really at ease backstage in the Emmy Gift Lounge and commented that he didn't really have any problems finding jeans that fit, and thought it was a bigger problem for women. According to an article in Women's Health Magazine, Mr. Fishbourne is onto something! The 'Best Jeans For Your Body' article had an interesting fact that "the average woman tries on nine pairs of jeans before finding one that fits."
Lawrence said he liked the convenience factor of a personalized jeans catalog on truejeans.com and took a pair of Red Engine jeans to go.

No one spends as much time in remote locations as Survivor host, Jeff Probst, so when it was explained to him that True Jeans.com eliminates the dressing room we got his vote! He loved how easy the shopping experience at True Jeans is. The Emmy Host entered his measurements at TrueJeans.com and was quickly matched up to a selection of jeans that fit him. With a few style preference questions answered, he chose the right style of jeans for his taste and walked away with a new pair of Red Engine jeans.

One of the hottest trends for chilly weather that has been sticking around for a few seasons is tucking your jeans into your boots. The easiest and cleanest way to achieve this look is with a super skinny pair of jeans. The True Jeans team has found that a Jodphur clip (a stir-up with elastic clip typically used when riding horses) is the most effective and comfortable way to tuck your jeans into boots whether the jean is a skinny or straight leg, paired with a tight or slouchy boot!

Here is how it works:
1. Open the Clip and Close onto the hem at the side seam of your jeans. (you can also cuff the jean if the length is too long)

2. Pull the elastic band under the arch of your foot and attach the other clamp to the other side seam.

3. Step into your boot and you are good to go!
True Jeans is giving away a pair of these stir-up clips between October 1st and November 1st with the purchase of a skinny or a straight leg jean. (One pair of stir-ups per customer and while supplies last) Fall back in love with your jeans and boots!

October 3rd is Lee National Denim Day, which is a single-day fundraiser created by Lee Jeans to support the Women's Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Every year people nationwide are asked to wear their jeans and donate $5 in support of breast cancer research. This years ambassadors for the fundraiser are Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson and Private Practice's Tim daly.
Since its inception in 1996, Lee National Denim Day has adhered to a simple philosophy: one day, one cause, one cure®. In 12 years, that philosophy has become a mantra for millions. The underlying concept behind the program was simple-by convincing enough people to take one small step, together they could reach an incredible goal.
Since its first year, Lee National Denim Day has raised more than $70 million for the fight against breast cancer and unites nearly one million supporters nationwide each year.
There's still time to participate! Pull together some co-workers to make casual friday into something extra special and wear your jeans to work- just don't forget to make your contribution to help someone you love fight breast cancer! Any company or individual can sign up to start a team or you can make individual donations at the Denim Day website.
