Leg style preferences refer to the leg opening you prefer; skinny/tapered, straight, boot, flare, or trouser/wide. How do you know what fits me?
True Jeans predicts fit by using complex algorithms that match customers to jeans that fit. True Jeans has partnered with Montreal based, My Virtual Model to co-develop a proprietary software application that enables True Jeans to predict best fit and size recommendations for its customers. True Jeans fit specialists have rigorously tested and analyzed hundreds of pairs of jeans on all different body types in order to understand which jeans best fit every body type. With close attention to your measurements, body type, and other factors that make your body unique, True Jeans has developed a system to ensure you find your true fit every time.
What is my fit rating?
True Jeans’ fit software takes into account your measurements in conjunction with your desired preferences (ie: snug, relaxed, loose), the manufacturer’s intended fit, and the garments fabric properties. You are given a jean fit rating based on a five star rating scale. For each of your measurements, your ideal fit should be within the shaded area to have a good or acceptable fit.
5 stars are a perfect fit. This occurs very rarely. 4 stars are an excellent fit, 3 stars are a good fit, 2 stars are a poor fit and one star is un-wearable. You should look for something in the 3 or 4 star range.
If you prefer wearing looser or tighter jeans, try the size up and size down option to see how your fit details will adjust.

I received a 4 star fit rating but the fit details show that the inseam is too long. Why is this considered a 4 star rating?
The inseam refers to the measurement of the inside of the leg from the crotch to the ankle. You may receive a 4 star rating even when the inseam is too long, since we have determined that inseam length is the least important factor contributing to overall fit. Our algorithms were created using the findings from our empirical research for the majority of the customers tested. We do recognize that inseam length may be the most important factor for some of our customers. Therefore, we have included hemming (tailoring) recommendations and fit details which will help you make the best decision relative to the fit areas that are most important to you.
If your fit results suggest hemming, make sure you ask your tailor to reattach the original hem so that you retain the original appearance of the jeans. You can also request hemming from True Jeans by calling 1-877-FIT-TRUE or emailing a Fit Specialist at fitspecialist@truejeans.com .
